The Team

The Sportsbet Cyber Security team is full of experienced operators who enjoy the challenge that comes with working for a fast-growing digital organisation, are passionate about protecting our customer data, and know how to have fun while doing it.

 

The Role

You will be responsible for core cybersecurity activities, including driving vulnerability management and incident management practices, reviewing and approving technical changes, capturing metrics and reporting and other aspects of Security Operations.

This role is a driver in the business. You will need to rely on your strong technical knowledge to work alongside numerous developer, engineering and business teams to deliver some of the latest and greatest in technology – including the leading edge technologies within AWS and specialist security tools.

Responsibilities include:

  • Provide risk-based and pragmatic solutions and support to teams across technology as they implement new projects, security uplift and relevant security best practices
  • Respond to operational incidents and work alongside technical and business teams to assist with timely and effective resolution.
  • Work with various security technologies to implement effective detection and response capabilities.
  • On-going operation and improvement of our vulnerability management practices, including maximising value from technology solutions, and working with teams to    ensure vulnerabilities are remediated in a timely manner
  • Responsible for relationship and ongoing operational support with external Managed Security Services Provider, including the facilitation and appropriate handling of information security incidents with relevant other teams
  • Act as primary contact for regular technical changes (network, proxy, security group changes, etc.) to ensure appropriateness prior to implementation.  This includes assisting business and technical teams with ad-hoc queries regarding cybersecurity and supporting them with assessing third-party technology solutions

 

You

  • Technical role background (systems administration, security engineer, etc.)
  • Working understanding of common security controls across network, infrastructure, digital applications and enterprise environments
  • Hands-on experience with network protection and endpoint security solutions (firewall, IDS/IPS, SIEM, anti-virus, DLP, etc.)
  • Experience across a mix of Windows/Linux/Unix, and Public Cloud
  • Familiarity with service delivery practices
  • Awareness of emerging security trends, including threats and countermeasures
  • Experience in analysis of, and response to, IT/Cyber Security incidents
  • Experience in providing consultative + technical guidance on vulnerability management practices
  • Working understanding of key network technologies, protocols and topologies
  • Knowledge/familiarity with security standards like ISO27001 or PCI-DSS, and knowledge of risk management frameworks
  • Demonstrable experience of security best practice and practical application of security controls (ideally with risk assessment familiarity)
