About the role

Reporting into the Head of Public Policy and Reputation, this role will be the primary point of contact for the business on public policy matters and coordinate with other functional areas where needed including Legal & Risk, Finance, Marketing and Commercial operations as well as external regulatory and industry stakeholders.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Responsible for coordination, formulation and drafting of policy positions and documents, both responsive and proactive.
  • Assist Corporate Affairs to foster and maintain productive working relationships with key public policy decision-makers as well as licensing and regulatory bodies.
  • As directed, proactive and reactive engagement with key external stakeholders to further Sportsbet’s public policy goals.
  • Support the work of Corporate Affairs to increase internal stakeholders' awareness and understanding of the external operating environment and public policy developments.
  • Identify, monitor and report on legislative, regulatory and other public policy developments that may impact Sportsbet.

About You

We’re looking for someone with:

  • Awareness and understanding of the political, policy and regulatory issues that may impact on Sportsbet and the wagering sector more broadly.
  • Sound understanding of political and governmental policy processes and formulation.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and capacity to represent the team internally and externally.
