The Role

Being a completely digital company in a highly competitive market, delivering competitive advantage by leveraging our data and generating timely, actionable insights will be key to providing our customers the best possible experience and enable Sportsbet to continue pushing the boundaries as a digital leader with a cutting edge analytics function.

The role will deliver small and large projects across the whole of Sportsbet including Customer Operations, Responsible Gambling, Marketing, Product, Media and Risk & Trading and with objective of achieving greater efficiency and better solutions to business problems

Duties include:

  • Ensure data is analysed into meaningful, actionable insights and recommendations that will improve decision making and consequently drive business performance
  • Analysing real-time online customer behavioural data (google analytics) to understand user experience and drive customer economics
  • Understand the business problem by identifying opportunities to harness cross-functional data (eg web/social, CRM, transactional, financial, etc) in order to improve decision making and consequently drive business performance
  • Support the business in delivering insights that influences decision makers
  • Communicate and deliver complex analysis and concepts to key stakeholders and the wider business by creating ‘data stories’ to excite the business
  • Manage end-to-end analytical projects and develop in-depth, customer-based insights that help drive decisions
  • Demonstrate ability to understand complex techniques but also apply them in the right circumstances
  • Must have proven ability to work directly with stakeholders to identify what they are trying to achieve and align work efforts and outcomes to those objectives
  • Adapts well to new situations, supports, drives and champions change
  • Be proactive to identify potential areas for analysis, optimisation and experimentation
  • Support development of our insight analysts
  • Develop new and evolve appropriate metrics and tools to provide reports and analysis that leads to actionable strategic insights

You

  • Five years + relevant experience
  • Experience working with web analytics: Google Analytics preferred
  • Advanced level of SQL or equivalent
  • Strong Excel skills
  • Experience with business intelligence tools, e.g. Power BI
  • Familiarity with data visualisation tools and dashboard design techniques
  • Highly developed analytical skills
  • Strong logic and ability to explain complex analysis in a simple way
  • Business Analysis and Requirements Gathering
  • Using and manipulating large datasets
  • Proactively explore and identify new sources of data to improve understanding of customer and product
