The Role

As a Senior Software Engineer in the FanDuel team, you will work as part of an Agile team that develops, deploys, and supports its own projects and outcomes. You will be able to lead, guide and influence the team through big and small projects using your technical expertise and familiarity of software engineering best practices within a regulated environment.

We use many of the latest technologies, practices, and tools, so you will need to be at ease with constantly learning new tools and techniques along with running proof of concept evaluations to keep us in the game and with a leading edge.

About You

As an experienced Software Engineer (Java) you will be familiar with building micro services architecture and writing your own code, from build through to production and providing post go live support. Mentoring and coaching will be part of your current role and you will thrive in identifying problems, proposing solutions, and working collaboratively to deliver software and process enhancements for the team.

Tech Skills we look for

  • Core Java, Spring Framework with IoC/DI (essential)
  • Experience in microservices based architecture(essential)
  • CI/CD - Continuous Delivery (GitHub Actions, Octopus, Jenkins, Bamboo, Docker or similar)
  • Unit testing & mocking frameworks (Mockito, Spock or similar)
  • Event driven architecture, messaging, and event bus platforms (Kafka, RabbitMQ, AWS Event Bridge or similar), distributed caching (Redis, Memcached or similar)
  • The ability to build scalable and self-healing infrastructure in cloud – (we use AWS)
