About The Role

As a Data Business Analyst, you’ll help connect the dots between data, technology and the business. You’ll work with teams across Commercial Analytics, Finance, Data Science and other data areas to understand what data is needed, where it comes from and how it needs to evolve. From discovering requirements, understanding impacts to existing data flows, data mapping, and prioritising and managing backlogs, you’ll help turn complex data needs into clear, practical outcomes.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Work with Commercial Analytics, Finance, Data Science and other stakeholders to discover and understand data requirements, asking the right questions to uncover what’s really needed.
  • Collaborate with source teams to understand incoming data, map current-state and future-state requirements through the datalake and understand the impact to existing data flows.
  • Manage and prioritise a backlog working with stakeholders to ensure the most valuable work is understood and that stakeholders are informed of progress
  • Explore how AI and new ways of working can support analysis and delivery, with a focus on learning, experimentation and quality.

About You

While we are big on development and offer on the job training, we want to set you up for success.

You don’t need to tick every box to make an impact in this role. You might already be working as a Business Analyst, or you could be a Data Analyst or Data Engineer who understands BA fundamentals and is interested in moving your career in that direction. What matters most is your curiosity, willingness to ask questions and openness to learning. You’re comfortable working with different perspectives, keen to learn from those around you and interested in how AI and emerging technology can help teams work smarter.

What You Will Bring:

  • Experience working with data, alongside an understanding of core Business Analyst practices. Proven BA (Business Analyst) experience can provide a solid foundation for the role.
  • Exposure to data-focused work such as data migration, data platforms, data lakes, data requirements discovery or data mapping.
  • The ability to collaborate with a range of stakeholders, including Data Analytics and Data Science teams, and translate their needs into clear requirements.
  • Familiarity with some relevant data technologies such as Databricks, SQL, or Python. Experience across every technology isn’t expected.
  • A curious and growth-focused mindset, with an appetite to learn, embrace AI and develop your skills alongside experienced teammates.

The Perks

We work hard and play hard, so along with a competitive salary and generous performance-based bonus for permanent staff members, here’s some of our other perks:

  • 25 days annual leave (that’s right, an additional week’s leave!)
  • Hybrid working policy (Monday and Friday from home) and a $1,050 home office allowance for new starters.
  • Industry leading Parental Leave support program with 26 weeks paid leave for Primary Carers and no wait time. We also have a progressive return to work benefit for your first 6 months back: come back for 3 days, get paid for 4; come back for 4 days, get paid for 5.
  • Hack Days - where your creativity and collaborative ideas lead to exciting new ideas and projects for our customers.
  • Access to outstanding career development programs, including expert-led internal training and external learning opportunities (staff allowance for personal development)
