The Role

This Cloud Engineer role is a key position within our team, responsible for designing and delivering Cloud Solutions to enable our organisation to obtain competitive advantage, while maintaining quality, good hygiene in development practices and adoption of recent technologies. You will be part of a highly skilled team that set the benchmark for cloud technology capability at Fanduel.


About You

You’re qualified and experienced in all things cloud. More than that, you have and want to stay at the forefront of distributed computing, keeping Fanduel at the forefront of cloud technology.  You will be a technical expert on the cloud with autonomy to make decisions and set the technical direction for Fanduel.


Key experiences required

  • Proven commercial AWS experience
  • 3+ years of developing software with object-oriented languages like Java, C++ or Python
  • Extensive knowledge about APIs. You can design RESTful services and integrate with other data providers, and you know when to use JSON or XML.
  • Experience in developing CI/CD pipeline with Jenkins, GitHub actions, Docker, Ansible, CloudFormation (YAML), Gradle or similar tools.
  • A solid understanding of networking and core Internet protocols (e.g. TCP/IP, DNS, SMTP, HTTP, and distributed networks).
  • Lots of experience with Linux/UNIX systems and the best practices for deploying applications to those stacks.
  • Experience with different databases, including working knowledge of SQL, relational data stores.
