About The Role

As our Data Governance Analyst, you'll play a key role in helping the business use data confidently, responsibly and effectively. Joining our growing and newly formed Privacy, Data Enablement & Responsible AI team, you'll help embed and evolve Sportsbet's Enterprise Data Governance Framework, turning governance principles into practical, business-friendly outcomes. Working across Technology, Data, Risk, Legal and Cyber Security teams, you'll help strengthen how we manage, protect and unlock the value of data across the organisation.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who enjoys solving complex problems, influencing stakeholders and helping build strong governance practices in a fast-moving, innovative environment. You’ll also gain exposure to privacy and Responsible AI governance, with opportunities to contribute to Sportsbet’s growing Responsible AI Framework

Responsibilities Include:

  • Help drive the adoption and continuous improvement of Sportsbet's Enterprise Data Governance Framework, supporting policies, standards and governance processes across the business.
  • Partner with business and technology teams to embed data ownership, stewardship and accountability across critical data assets.
  • Maintain and enhance key governance artefacts including data dictionaries, business glossaries, metadata records and ownership registers.
  • Support data quality, risk and assurance activities by identifying improvement opportunities, monitoring controls and maintaining governance evidence.
  • Build stakeholder awareness and capability by providing practical guidance, supporting training initiatives and promoting responsible data practices across Sportsbet.

About You

While we are big on development and offer on the job training, we want to set you up for success. Along with a great attitude, it would be ideal that you have:

  • Experience in data governance, data management, privacy, risk, compliance, audit, technology governance or a related discipline.
  • A strong understanding of data governance concepts including data ownership, stewardship, data quality, metadata, classification and lifecycle management.
  • Experience developing or maintaining governance frameworks, policies, standards, procedures or supporting documentation.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify risks, control gaps and improvement opportunities.

You essentially thrive on building relationships and can confidently partner with stakeholders across both business and technology teams to help organisations make smarter, safer and more trusted decisions through strong data governance.
