The Role

We’re dedicated to building an inclusive, winning team and we pride ourselves on an environment where “Anything is Possible”, especially when it comes to your career.

Betting Analysts at FanDuel are the people behind the odds that our customers bet on. We utilise stats, in-house models, industry news and our knowledge to help formulate probabilities which lead to what we believe to be the most accurate odds.

We don’t expect anyone to walk in the door and know everything at the start, so we take our training seriously to ensure the successful candidate is well supported. With our mantra “Everything Begins With The Customer”, our players are the most important thing to us, so new market ideation, settling bets in a timely manner, reducing bet friction and all aspects of the betting experience are a primary function of this role for you.

Check out this video and hear from some of our staff around a day in the life and what we are looking for!

Key responsibilities include:

  • With time, the ability to compile your own odds on a wide range of sporting events and markets.
  • Monitor prices and adjusting where necessary, taking into consideration player news, customer behaviour, industry prices, etc.
  • Learning how to use our sports models to live trade games of ice hockey
  • Collaborate with various teams globally across the business to manage our liabilities, onsite display, customer patterns and ensuring we remain compliant across our different jurisdictions.
  • Working within other codes (primarily MLB) whilst NHL is in the off-season

The FanDuel team in Melbourne adopt a flexible 5-day working week policy based on customer needs to ensure a great work-life balance for our staff. There is a requirement for weekend work, but shifts will generally fall between 8am – 7pm allowing you to still have your nights.

Live trading can be exciting, invigorating, nail biting and downright fun, so a cultural environment of strong peer support; outside-of-work social events; weekend meal allowance (on the house!); quarterly team-wide benefit drops are all part of the FanDuel employee experience!
