About Us

At Sportsbet, we’re united behind our purpose to “Bring Excitement to Life” for our 2 million customers (and growing!). We do this by over-delivering through our commitment to fun, challenging the status quo and living our values. As part of the Flutter Group, we’re a global player, but in Melbourne, Sydney and Darwin we’re a tight knit group of 1,300 teammates (of which over half are in our Tech and Data Science teams!).

We are a significant contributor to the Australian economy through racing and sporting codes and we are committed to having a positive impact in society by supporting our customers, our communities and our employees. Our commitment to responsible gambling is genuine and demonstrated through the wide range of responsible gambling initiatives and tools.

In 2023, we were a recipient of LinkedIn’s Top 25 Companies for our focus on career development and awarded the Top 10 Workplaces for Women through Work180. Our commitment to making Sportsbet the best place to work is never-ending.

About The Role

As the GM Risk & Compliance, Finance and Corporate Centre Functions, you’ll be accountable for ensuring Sportsbet’s Finance department and Corporate Centre Functions (the Commercial, Corporate Affairs and Legal, Risk & Compliance departments) manage their risk profile and implement controls to manage risks and compliance obligations effectively and efficiently, in accordance with relevant Sportsbet policies and frameworks. These extend to the policies and frameworks of the Flutter Entertainment Group.

In addition to being a member of the Sportsbet Extended Leadership Team, you’ll be a key part of the Finance Leadership Team and lead the first line Risk & Compliance function to identify, assess, mitigate, and monitor department and emerging risks, building out a comprehensive end-to-end assurance program. You will work closely with first and second line Legal, Risk and Compliance SMEs across the business to ensure Finance and the Corporate Centre Functions are efficient and effective in managing risks and compliance obligations, engaging proactively on shared processes and controls, and operational dependencies.

You will advise business stakeholders, support risk assessment, provide oversight and perform assurance in relation to material risks. You’ll also propose and coordinate actions to communicate, implement and monitor risk management policies, risk appetite and risk limits; and facilitate the use of appropriate risk management methodologies, tools and strategies.

To ensure that Finance and Corporate Centre Functions meet their regulatory obligations, you will work with business stakeholders to design and implement processes, controls, testing and reporting in relation to risk and compliance event management and report on the adequacy and effectiveness of the control environment to the Sportsbet Board and Senior Management. You will support the management and resolution of compliance incidents and issues efficiently and sustainably.
