About The Role

Reporting into the GM Risk, Compliance, Assurance (Chief Privacy Officer), this newly created position will see you support the design and implementation of efficient processes for risk and compliance management, including strong privacy and data governance practices, and the responsible use of AI across the business.  Leading a team of 4, you will work with global Flutter counterparts to implement and embed with Flutter’s Responsible Artificial Intelligence (RAI) Framework. across Sportsbet, tailoring it to the local operating, regulatory, privacy and risk environment.

You'll also contribute to insightful reporting on the effectiveness of processes and control environment, keeping leadership informed and enabling continuous improvement.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Recommend and develop policies, processes and controls to ensure that Sportsbet meet its privacy obligations under applicable laws (including Australian privacy laws and relevant international standards) and deliver them to implementation through effective governance, advice and practical guidance.
  • Provide trusted privacy advice to business teams on data collection, use, disclosure, retention and deletion across customer and employee data lifecycles.
  • Support product, technology and data teams to identify, assess and manage RAI risks across the AI lifecycle, from design through to deployment and monitoring.
  • Work closely with Technology and Cyber Security teams to support the development and implementation of consistent data classifications, controls and assurance mechanisms across Sportsbet.

Please note, this is a 12 month maternity leave cover.


About You

While we are big on development and offer on the job training, we want to set you up for success. You will be well versed in privacy and data governance and have the demonstrated mastery to drive Sportsbet’s AI ambitions responsibly and pragmatically. So, along with a great attitude, it would be ideal that you have:

  • Hands-on experience managing compliance risk across a variety of domains, including technology, product, marketing, HR, and data.
  • Operationalising contemporary approaches to privacy (with an interest in AI) in “digital” and multi-channel consumer businesses
  • Experience in influencing outcomes and driving change / transformation across the businesses more broadly
  • Certified Information Privacy (CIPM/CIMPT) professional accreditation will be highly desirable but not essential.
