About the role
We are looking to appoint a Head of Risk & Compliance in the Transformation, Sustainability and Customer Operations (TSCO) department within Sportsbet. This is a ‘Line 1’ Risk & Compliance role. It will be responsible for coordinating, leading and performing Risk & Compliance activities (Obligation Management, Risk Assessments, Control Testing, Incident Management, Etc.) over a selection of TSCO topics. TSCO topics include Safer Gambling, Financial Crime, Privacy, Customer Operations, Fraud, Payments, Robotic Process Automation (RPA), Strategy & Research.
In this leadership role, you'll play a key part in shaping and maintaining a strong risk and compliance culture at Sportsbet. You'll collaborate with the GM CSRC to ensure the organisation maintains a robust control environment, effectively managing risks and compliance obligations, which will foster trust and transparency across all stakeholders. As a Line 1 leader, you'll be responsible for driving Sportsbet’s approach to risk and compliance management, leveraging your subject matter expertise to enhance controls and mitigate operational risks. Additionally, you'll ensure alignment with the policies and frameworks of Flutter Entertainment Group, a leading NYSE-listed company, ensuring the highest standards of governance.
This role will also sit on the Customer Sustainability, Risk & Compliance (CSRC) LT, playing a key role in setting standards, driving culture and leading this function.
Key Responsibilities
Management: Lead a small team (1-2 people) and manage key processes. Contribute to the CSRC and TSCO Leadership Teams.
Stakeholder Management & Advisory: Serve as the primary contact for senior business management, building strong relationships. Act as a trusted advisor, solving complex issues and providing risk and compliance advice for new initiatives.
Team Strategy: Contribute to the development of the CSRC strategy and own the delivery of key initiatives.
Regulatory Compliance & Risk Management: Ensure understanding of regulatory obligations, monitor compliance, and provide expertise on risk management. Drive improvements in governance, risk management, and internal controls.
Control Articulation & Testing: Review, challenge, and provide advice on control environments. Oversee control testing, communicate results, and monitor management responses to ensure effective changes.
Supporting Risk & Compliance Activities: Manage incident resolution, ensure training completion, and act as an escalation point for internal and external audits.
Data Analytics: Lead data-driven decision-making and initiatives involving data analytics testing.
