About The Role

We're looking for a Risk & Compliance Senior Specialist to join our Line 1 Risk team and help shape a risk culture that enables great business outcomes across Sportsbet. Working closely with teams across Finance, People & Culture, Legal, Commercial and Corporate Affairs, you'll play a key role in helping the business identify, manage and respond to risk while supporting strategic decision-making.

This is an opportunity to combine strong risk and compliance expertise with commercial thinking. You'll provide trusted advice, deliver assurance activities, contribute to financial controls governance and generate meaningful insights that help our teams move forward with confidence. If you enjoy partnering with stakeholders, solving complex problems and continuously improving the way things are done, this role offers plenty of challenge and impact.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with stakeholders across Corporate Functions to provide practical risk and compliance advice that supports business objectives.
  • Identify, assess and manage operational, regulatory and financial reporting risks across assigned portfolios.
  • Execute control assurance reviews and testing activities, evaluating both control design and effectiveness.
  • Support and coordinate SOX and financial controls activities, including documentation, testing and remediation tracking.
  • Facilitate risk and control discussions that help stakeholders understand obligations, risks and improvement opportunities.
  • Contribute risk and control expertise to business change initiatives, process improvements and system implementations.
  • Investigate issues, audit findings and control deficiencies, supporting root cause analysis and sustainable remediation actions.
  • Analyse data and trends to identify emerging risks, provide actionable insights and support informed decision-making.
  • Drive continuous improvement by leveraging technology, automation and smarter ways of working across risk and compliance activities.

Please note, this is a 12-month maternity leave cover.

About You

  • You bring at least 3 years experience in risk management, compliance, governance, assurance, audit or a related corporate function.
  • Exposure to SOX and financial controls is advantageous
  • You're confident working in complex or highly regulated environments and can balance risk management with commercial outcomes.
  • You build strong relationships quickly and know how to influence, challenge and support stakeholders at all levels.
  • You're comfortable navigating ambiguity, managing competing priorities and delivering quality outcomes to tight deadlines.
  • You have a curious mindset, challenge the status quo and are always looking for better ways to do things.
  • You communicate clearly and confidently, translating complex risk concepts into practical actions for the business.
  • You enjoy working collaboratively and bring a positive, team-first approach to everything you do.

The Perks

We work hard and play hard, so along with a competitive salary, here’s some of our other perks:

  • 25 days annual leave (that’s right, an additional week’s leave!)
