The Position
Our roster has an opening with your name on it.
Working in FanDuel Risk and Trading Technology team in Melbourne, Australia and reporting into the Software Engineering Manager, you will be an essential part of a cross functional agile team that directly impacts our business. You will work collaboratively with a team to implement creative, high-quality solutions, scope effort and timelines and balance priorities of our stakeholders and engineering needs. This team will work closely to deliver exceptionally high-quality software, while taking pride and ownership in testing, deploying, monitoring, and maintaining that software. Our engineers own every part of the software delivery lifecycle.
The Game Plan
From day one, you’ll be a trusted and autonomous contributor. You’ll work on real problems that matter, producing high‑quality software and collaborating closely with your teammates to design, build, and improve systems that are stable, scalable, and performant. We value thoughtful engineering. That means choosing the right level of complexity, avoiding unnecessary shortcuts, and creating flexible solutions without over‑engineering. You’ll be encouraged to make smart trade‑offs, reuse where it makes sense and be deliberate when introducing new tools or dependencies. Efficiency matters- to our systems, our resources, and our long‑term success.
We’re looking for associate‑level engineers who are eager to grow, contribute and learn. You’ll actively participate in technical discussions, help design and implement solutions and continuously improve our software and processes. Curiosity, ownership and a desire to develop your craft are essential.
You don’t need to have everything figured out—we’re excited to help you build the skills you don’t yet have.
What Success Looks Like
You will:
- Write clean, simple, and extensible code that follows best practices—and test it thoroughly
- Take ownership of projects and drive improvements to our software and engineering processes
- Apply creative thinking to solve challenging problems
- Learn continuously and invest in your professional development
- Care deeply about the quality of the codebase both what you inherit and what you create
- Most importantly, you’re humble, pragmatic, and self‑motivated. You ask questions, seek feedback, and challenge assumptions—not because you think you know everything, but because you’re always striving to be better.
