A FanDuel Senior Sports Trader will be play a key role in ensuring FanDuel remain the US #1 Sportsbook. They will be involved in the compilation and changing of our betting odds (including live during games), monitoring of our customers’ behaviour and identifying new and exciting opportunities to improve our already best-in-class experience for our customers. Their primary focus will be in one of the US’ Big 7 Sports – NFL, NBA, MLB, CFB, CBB, NHL & WNBA.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
Sport Ownership
- SME of one of the Big 7 US Sports, ability to originate core and prop prices while going to first to market on events to create distinctive betting opportunities for FD customers.
- End to end ownership of product lifecycle through creation, price management and settlement
- Oversee and optimise daily trading processes
- Live trade highest profile events to an elite standard
- In the top tier of traders at customer analysis
Pricing Analysis
- Conduit between departments such as Risk, Product, Marketing & Commercial
- Influence SMI and pricing team with pointed feedback regarding pricing and customer behaviour
- Where required, manage 3rd party providers externally
- Reporting and analysis completed at season intervals outlining performance against key trading metrics
Testing & New Product Rollout
- Contribute to testing of new product and ensure all sport platform releases adhere to price assurance, compliance and regulatory requirements
- Expertise in platform testing environments to supplement the above
Hiring & Onboarding
- Contribute to upskilling of team members not limited to real time feedback and showing.
- Ability to demonstrate pricing processes to wider team
- Playing a support role in the hiring process, usually in early round interviews.
KEY REQUIREMENTS
Technical Competencies
- Expert Betting IQ
- Very comfortable in Tableau & Excel Skills – creating dashboards, analysing data, creating simulation models
- Strong skills across all communication mediums – Email, Slack, Zoom, eg. hosting calls & sending reports to wider stakeholders
- 3+ season experience in pricing within a first to market / trading environment
- Degree in mathematics, statistics or similar
