About the Role

The Head of Finance - APAC will serve as the primary leader overseeing all financial activities for the APAC region, with responsibility across two key businesses: Sportsbet and Junglee. This is a newly created role within Flutter that offers a unique opportunity to play a pivotal part in shaping financial strategy and driving business performance across a dynamic and growing region.

The ideal candidate is a proactive, self-starter with a deep understanding of financial operations, end-to-end reporting, and the ability to engage with senior stakeholders across multiple business units. As part of this role, you will be responsible for managing the APAC financial results, providing insights to leadership teams, and leading key financial initiatives within Sportsbet and Junglee. The role also presents exciting opportunities for involvement in M&A activities within the APAC region, requiring prior experience in this domain.

Key Accountabilities

Financial Reporting & Analysis

  • Oversee the end-to-end financial reporting for the APAC region, ensuring accurate and timely results for Sportsbet and Junglee.
  • Provide detailed financial analysis and insights to drive business decisions, growth, and operational efficiencies.

Stakeholder Management

  • Manage relationships with senior stakeholders across Junglee, Sportsbet, and Flutter International.
  • Communicate financial performance and strategic recommendations to key stakeholders, aligning financial goals with business objectives.

Mergers & Acquisitions (M&A)

  • Support and lead financial due diligence for potential M&A activities across the APAC region.
  • Integrate acquired businesses into the existing financial framework, ensuring smooth transitions and strategic alignment.

Financial Planning & Strategy

  • Develop and implement financial strategies to support growth and profitability in the APAC market.
  • Lead budgeting, forecasting, and long-term financial planning, while identifying and mitigating financial risks.

Compliance & Governance

  • Ensure compliance with local and international financial regulations and standards.
  • Maintain robust financial controls and governance frameworks, liaising with external auditors as required.

Team Leadership

  • Build and lead a high-performing finance team, fostering a culture of excellence.
  • Mentor and develop team members, supporting their growth and contributions to the business.

Process Improvement & Transformation

  • Establish and optimize financial processes for efficiency and scalability, supporting key transformation programs like Polaris.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance financial performance and operational efficiency.
