About the role

Reporting to the Cloud Platform Manager, you will be part of an exciting new function where you can take the lead on up-skilling and mentoring a small team of engineers. The team you are a part of is responsible for ensuring the tooling used by our engineering teams are always leading-edge, with key focus areas being Github, Backstage, AWS and API development.

In conjunction with your leadership capabilities, you’re a hands-on senior developer and experienced in all things Github, AWS and automation.

More than that, you have and want to stay at the forefront of leading-edge development practices and your passion will keep Sportsbet at the forefront of development best practices and the use of AI to achieve this.

About You

• Strong communications and stakeholder management skills
• Ability to develop code to automate all things AWS
• High level competency in Github, you’re a bit of a guru
• AI is a passion of yours, and how it applies to development practices
• Continuous learning mindset - ongoing ability to grow and learn new technologies and impart your knowledge to the broader technology teams
• High competency in Python and have ideally used TypeScript
• Backend Object Oriented Developer Experience (essential skill), Middleware skills, building APIs and integrating with target applications using Golang
• Experience with CICD pipelines and tools
• Strong hands-on experience with key AWS Services like Cloud Formation, ECS, S3, Fargate, Lambda, RDS.
