About the Role

There’s no better time to join Sportsbet than now. As a Team Lead - Racing based in Melbourne, you will manage day-to-day operations and tactical decisions of the racing trading team. Providing guidance on trading strategies, mentoring team members, and ensuring efficient execution of trades during races . 

Reporting to the Head of Racing Trading Operations, you will balance operational and leadership duties, ensuring your team thrives in a dynamic environment. But you won’t be doing it alone, you’ll be backed by a supportive, collaborative team, expert training, and a culture where innovation, inclusion, and high performance go hand in hand.


Responsibilities Include:

  • Lead a Team of Traders: Across all three codes, driving a positive team culture and promote ongoing team development.
  • Drive Operational Excellence: lead initiatives that drive operational excellence, efficiency, and continuous improvement across all three codes – thoroughbreds, greyhounds, and harness.
  • Streamline Operations: Streamline existing processes to maintain a smooth operational rhythm
  • Contribute Strategy: Help execute and evolve our trading strategies, using both market insight and customer behaviour data.
  • Optimise Tools & Models: Collaborate with pricing and strategy team to improve trading models and internal systems.
  • Champion Performance: Lead your team to meet trading KPIs, manage resourcing, stay composed under pressure, and deliver strong results across a wide range of racing events.
